Yuri Ebihara (蛯原友里, Ebihara Yuri?, born October 3, 1979 in Sadowara, Miyazaki Prefecture) is a Japanese model and actress. She is a graduate of Kyushu Sangyo University where she studied fine arts.

After graduating she worked with a classmate designing for aged care institutions. She won an audition for a TV advertisement for Zespri golden kiwi fruit.

Her first big break came as the exclusive CanCam model, the only model appearing in that magazine at the time. She then went on to appear in several TV dramas, most recently Busu no Hitomi ni Koi shiteru (KTV, 2006)

Ebihara is universally known by her nickname Ebi-chan, which is based on the first character of her family name. Newspapers and television often drop the appellation Chan, which is quite unusual. Ebi means “shrimp” and has been used by McDonald’s Japan to promote their fried shrimp burger. Her posters are well known for being stolen from McDonald stores.

She is currently the campaign girl for the Fujifilm FinePix range of digital camera.

Ebihara is especially popular with young women and commands such influence that her fashion items often become instant sellouts. She has been quoted as saying, “If someone doesn’t find me cute, I want to know why because then I’ll work on it to get better at being cute”.[1] She has been criticised for having exactly the same expression in every photograph.

Ebi-chan has also appeared in the pornographic DVD ‘Ebi Channel’. It is unclear what McDonald’s’ position is on this aspect of her career.
